Nicky wears a lot of practical and unremarkable clothing, but he knows how much Joe loves beautiful things. So every once in a while he'll get his hands on the most lush, gorgeous dress imaginable, put it on, and let Joe have his sweet way with him.

(Not really looking for feminization, this is basically about the esthetics and the fact that Nicky, who doesn't usually put a lot of deliberate effort into his appearance, loves doing this kind of thing to please Joe)

Having rapidly consumed Marwan and Luca's films, modern AU with single father Joe and recently broken up Nicky finding love with one another (as well as healing...) Joe has Daan's background while Nicky has Paolo's background in their respective movies but feel free to change up some things to better suit their characters i.e. Joe being an art professor rather than a Deli owner.

Paulo's ending was bittersweet so my shipper mind automatically went to JoeNicky fix...

+ some language barrier, English is typically the Lingua Franca now, so Joe speaking it quite well but Nicky's English not being good.
++ Nicky thinking he's only pining because Joe looks like his ex of 8 years and so is reluctant to pursue this relationship
+++ cute moments with them and Joe's daughter, which helps Nicky learn what family is, etc. But also daughter (name is up to you) trying to play cupid for them to get together.

So I slightly misremembered the prompt when I was coming up with the idea, and so both of them have their post-respective-movies background (and child), but maybe it works even better as a fix that way? I can promise the language barrier exactly as prompted and much made of the fact that Joe looks like Mario. :)

Anyway, I hope you still like it. (Also, I originally watched both movie because of this prompt, and Il Padre d'Italia is my favourite movie of all time now, so thank you for that!)

Booker & Nile, father-daughter vibes

Nile continues to talk to Booker even while he’s in exile (mostly texting and sending him memes he doesn’t fully understand) and it’s a lifeline for him. She lobbies for him to be allowed back into the fold and the rest finally give in.

They continue to get closer and one day he realizes that he feels about her like he did about his sons. He’s embarrassed about it, but sometime when they’re in a dangerous situation on a mission, he blurts it out. She’s genuinely touched and happy.

Joe/Nicky + Meet Awkward/Bad First Impression

Modern AU meet awkward

Joe is out and walking around town. He's supposed to meet Booker at some restaurant because Booker wants him to meet his other friends (Andy, Quynh, Nile) at the restaurant to bother some guy Nicky at his job- apparently Booker said they go to the restaurant and request this Nicky as their waiter specifically to bug him because that's what friends do

So Joe is like sure whatever I don't know these people but I'll come keep you company, and goes. Just as he's approaching the place however, he sees his ex Merrick and then Merrick starts following him to the restaurant

+Joe sees Booker with three women who he assumes are Andy, Nile and Quynh and they wave Joe over but of course Merrick is right there, suddenly slinging an arm around Joe and forcing himself into the group/outing

++Merrick and Joe broke up because he was an annoying prick who had a holier than thou attitude and everyone at the table is like if Joe dumped you why are you here? They settle for ignoring Merrick when they realize he isn't going away

+++Booker's friend Nicky is indeed working and is indeed their waiter and Joe would really like to flirt with him but stupid Merrick just had to show up. Nicky gives Andy extra baklava and speaks with Nile in Italian (Joe saw she had a few college assignments with her, Booker said she was cramming for her history classes) and he and Quynh tease Booker like siblings would

++++Merrick is obnoxious and rude and constantly trying to steer all the attention on himself once he realizes Joe was interested in Nicky. He belittles Nile's work and doesn't even conceal the fact that he's mad Joe is into someone else now

+++++Merrick trips Nicky as he walks past, causing him to fall and drop all the hot plates and glasses he was carrying and Joe is cursing his luck because now Booker's cute waiter friend won't want to see him.outside this setting ever probably and Merrick keeps insulting the group to make Joe look bad in front of them

++++++Merrick also doesn't tip or loudly proclaims that Nicky did a bad job so he shouldn't get a tip whatsoever and it's only Quynh's hand on Andy's arm that keeps her from leaping across the table and ripping Merrick a new one because who invited him?? No one that's who

Questions for the OP:

How tied are you to all the details of your +'s?

And how would you feel if any of these new friends acknowledge that what Merrick is doing is uhhh abusive and controlling because he's basically stalking Joe and trying to prevent him from forming new relationships with people outside of him? Or is that too serious/heavy and you prefer it stays in a comedy mood?

Nicky and Joe don't know each other, but they end up dancing together at the wedding and are seated at the same table (the old guard team are all at the same table)

Booker/others, a solo mission gone wrong

After the movie, a guilt-ridden Booker decided to do some good in the world. He figures a ring of human traffickers make for a good target, and he's done variations of this mission dozens of times with the team. But Booker isn't used to fighting alone, and quickly gets overwhelmed. Even worse, once the traffickers realize that he can't die, Booker goes from being an annoying target into being seen as a very valuable piece of merchandise.

Of course the team saves him in the end, but how long does it take for them to realize that he's in trouble at all?

For a mission, the team has to infiltrate a mansion during a party and it was going well... until Booker and another guest was found murdered in the library. The main suspect? Andy. Now Joe and Nicky have to find and reveal the real killer to keep the heat off of them (and because it's fun).

I just want to see Nicky casually pulling out a chair for Joe or opening a car door for him or something. I don't even need plot or porn, just that. Short and sweet glimpse of Nicky treating Joe to some gentlemanly behaviour when Joe is usually the demonstrative romantic one, but like he's not making a big deal of it.

Yes this is unashamedly inspired by the Jafar is Joe's brother prompt and I am actually watching They Call Me Jeeg right now as I type this

Basically the team has to infiltrate a crime ring and they find out it's the crime ring of Fabio Cannizzaro aka The Gypsy (also played by Luca Marinelli

-Andy and Joe infiltrate a party he's hosting as guests and in the movie, Fabio is super flashy and high energy and quick to anger (Andy and Joe watch as he beats a man to death with an i-phone, which happened in the movie jfc) but Joe can't get over how despite the long hair and the flashy suits and the cocky demeanor, their target looks exactly like Nicky does

-Andy and Joe are seated at a special table as Fabio's guests and Joe just can't stop staring because this criminal looks exactly like Nicky, speaks Italian the same as Nicky and he has the same mole on his face and Andy is kicking him under the table to get it together because as much as Fabio looks it, he's not Nicky

-Fabio is flirting with Joe and while Joe knows Italian his accent is more of the Roman dialect and Andy is rolling her eyes cuz can this guy cut the crap already?

-Nicky comes in and upon realizing that their target is Fabio his twin brother and that his brother was flirting with Joe, Joe and Andy watch as the two of them get into an argument- Italian flying everywhere, Joe and Andy can't keep up with what they're saying and then fists are flying and guns are being pulled and Joe makes the mistake of putting himself between Nicky and Fabio which just becomes an angry flirt fest between the brothers and Joe is begging Andy for help but she's having more fun than she ever had watching them fight over Joe

Remember that video of the guy waking up post-surgery and temporarily not remembering his wife (if not, here: https://youtu.be/adecieraxeA)? Yeah, so, Joe gets amnesia because reasons, is very confused about everything happening to him including the fact that the most beautiful man he’s ever laid eyes on is apparently his husband of 900+ years.

+Nicky is conflicted, Joe not knowing him or their whole shared history is weird and sad but Joe flirting with him like it’s the first time is weirdly delightful.

++Joe gets his memory back completely after a while.

Joe/Nicky - Stand Up Comedian Hits On Audience Member AU

So Marwan Kenzari is also known for his comedy roles I wanna see a modern AU where Andy, Quynh, Nile, Booker and Nicky go to see a stand up comedy show. Joe is the comedian and Nicky is smack in the middle in the front row

So through the night, as Joe is doing his set, he kinda heckles the shy cute Italian guy- sitting on the edge of the stage as if he was talking only to Nicky, making a joke about handsome men and pointing right at Nicky like "like this guy I'll use you as an example you're hot as fuck and you're probably taken it happens all the time"

The special is being taped for Netflix so of course the cameras eat it up. They even get shots of Andy, Quynh, Booker and Nile just teasing Nicky- they also get Booker writing something down and leaning over to give it to Joe, which Joe says into the mic that he's a lucky guy because he got one cute guy to give him another cute guys number and Nicky is super embarassed but the crowd eats it up

They all watch the special when it comes out on Netflix and Joe and Nicky may or may not be the subject of lots of articles- Who's Joe Al-Kaysani's new Squeeze? Was the Audience Member an Actor as Part of the Netflix Special? And other bullcrap that Nile prints out and Quynh tapes to the fridge like a proud parent lmao

Joe and Nicky have long since accepted that, despite their millennium-long romance, there are certain itches that they just can’t scratch for each other. Joe genuinely misses going down on women, which is different than giving Nicky head. The ladies of the Guard are more than willing to give him what he wants.

After killing each other in the crusade, they wake up different times and end up going separate ways.

Eventually Nicky makes it back to the other crusaders and they find out about Nicky's immortality. They start viewing him as a weapon more so than a human. Like Nicky is kept like a cage beast, chained and blindfolded, only to be let loose during battles. He's feral and vicious when he fights, causing him to be feared across the lands, rumors starting about the Franks having made a deal with a devil to have a daemon monster at their disposal.

Joe on the other hand decides to leave the battlefield. He thought he died but views still being alive again as his second chance at life, so he pursues to live his life to the fullest, maybe focusing on being the artist he always wanted to be. Although he still takes time to help people who need his fighting skills.

Many years pass, Nicky passed down almost like a pet to different command. At some point, the crusaders are invading the town Joe has settled in, and of course he joins in to defend it. That's when he sees Nicky, maybe he recognizes him maybe not, but Joe eventually gets captured. Maybe he's thrown into Nicky's cage with the assumption that Nicky will kill him. Maybe he did but Joe's immortal so it doesn't quite work out. Maybe Joe's appalled at the state he finds Nicky to be, barely human at all. Up to prompt filler on how they escape and deal with the aftermath!

+Because of his treatment, Nicky no longer understand speech or has really internalized that he's simply a weapon to kill and not human.

+++ Since Nicky is feral, crusaders developed some violent way to stop his rampage and pin him down to be shoved back to his cage.

++++++ Despite all these, Nicky's inherent kindness shows up in little things like the way he cradles a injured bird and tries to take care of it or giving Joe the what little food he has.

We all love the epic love story of Joe and Nicky, together through time and wars but what if they broke up after a few centuries instead of staying together?

I’m thinking Joe, telling Nicky they’re better off as friends for whatever reasons and Nicky, ever the kind one, accepting graciously despite the heartbreak. He’s had Joe for many lifetimes, after all. He has been fortunate already. Everything comes to an end.

They are family, though. So they keep together, fight together, sleep tightly spooned together, maybe even have sex -- a friends with benefits arrangement? For seeking comfort somewhere familiar maybe? -- and generally do all those things that make Nile think they’re a couple.

I’d like to see her reaction when she somehow realizes that they really are not and that Nicky has been pining ad hurting in that quiet -- may I say catholic? -- way of his for the better part of his immortal life.

Give me some gratuitous agony, please!

Oh, I'm getting all the thoughts and feels for this one.

Joe, who sometimes takes others to his bed, oblivious to the effect it has on Nicky.

Nile, finding out, that Nicky hasn't had another lover since Joe left him, and is willing to just take whatever Joe will give him.

Then Nicky and Nile are at a museum or an art gallery, and someone hits on Nicky. When he asks Nicky out to dinner, Nile can see that Nicky's going to turn him down, so she dives in and accepts for him.

When they get back to the safehouse/hotel, Nile starts going through Nicky's clothes and when Andy asks what she's doing, she tells them that Nicky has a hot date with a hot guy and that she's not going to let him out looking like a suburban dad.

And maybe it's then Joe realises that he's been lying to himself, and the possibility that Nicky could be with someone else, even though Joe has done exactly that, pains him.

Nicky and Nile are briefly captured. Nicky protects Nile when their guards get drunk, by offering to blow them instead, arguing he will be better, or whatever. If you want BAMF Nicky where he kills them after they've done that's fine. Or they can be rescued. I want Nicky asking Nile not to tell the others what happened, Nile struggling to keep the secret, and it all coming out somehow.

AU where werewolves are known.

Andy, Quynh, Joe, Nile, Booker, and Lykon are a pack of werewolves, who aren't aligned with any specific pack, but get called in when there are issues regarding werewolves that need dealing with. (I'm thinking like a werewolf version of the BAU in Criminal Minds.)

Copley connects them with a request for help, but tells them that there's a local pack around, but that they've refused to help with the bodies that keep turning up that look like they've been attacked by a wolf.

When the team get there, they introduce themselves to the local pack, who are led by Merrick and Keane, who are a mated pair. Merrick invites them to stay for a meal, and Nicky is one of the servers. The team notice how Merrick and Keane fondle and abuse Nicky while he's serving the food, including Keane making Nicky get on his knees and blow him during the dessert.

Merrick notices Joe watching them and tells him Nicky's belonged to him for years, ever since he was bitten and cast out of the church. Commenting that they had to train him because he'd never even sucked a cock before they got him. But now, he spreads sweetly for whoever Merrick gives him to.

Merrick then offers Nicky to Joe for the night.

The team now have to track and stop the rogue wolf while also rescuing Nicky, who Joe can't stop thinking about.

Joe/Nicky, Nicky not forgiving Booker

Booker regrets his actions and after some years of being alone, can't handle it any more. He decides to approach the team with his apologies.

Booker thinks that Nicky will be the easiest one to apologise to, but Nicky is the only one who refuses him. He tells Booker that had it just been him in that lab, he would forgive and accept Booker back into the team, but it wasn't. Nicky will never again trust Booker with Joe, and that means, even if Joe forgives Booker, that Nicky never will.

Up to the author whether Booker goes away alone, or if he rejoins the team knowing that Nicky will never view him as a brother ever again.

Nicky will never again trust Booker with Joe

I really like the phrasing of this idea, like even if everything else is cool and Booker is welcomed back into the fold and Nicky treats him in a friendly way again, Booker can still feel there's one piece missing. Like Nicky sit down next to him to eat dinner, but on a job when Booker volunteers to cover Joe's back Nicky is like hell no you won't. I don't know how that can be fixed.

Somehow Joe and Nicky from very early in their relationship, like just out of the killing each other on sight phase, get flung forward in time and end up being looked after by modern times Joe and Nicky.

The shocking thing isn’t the 21st century (or honestly they could meet any later era immortal husbands, I’m not picky) - the shocking thing is that this hated enemy (who secretly neither one really hates anymore) is their beloved.
