To keep the prompt posts more manageable in size for modding, this post is closed to new prompts now. New Prompts should go in Prompt Post #23.

In all their time through history they had their ups and downs... but they're actually the reason why the "story" of the fours horsemen of apocalypse exists. It was a difficult, brutal time... and the reasony why Joe said to Nile it "depends on the century" if they're the good or the bad guys ;)

inspired by another cute fic about the team as kids, would love to see tiny kids joe and nicky (around 4-6 years old) finding out for the first time that BOYS CAN MARRY EACH OTHER??? and very seriously announcing that when they grow up they'll get married. just a lot of tooth-rotting cuteness, them holding hands and maybe even a childish first kiss (because that's what married adults do right?)

if the parents are involved at all, would prefer not to see any major homophobia from them.

+1000 for a flashforward ~20-30 years to joe/nicky as adults actually getting married and reminiscing, either someone telling the story at the reception or just the two of them remembering their early beginnings fondly

Could be a sexual thing, could be an evil bad guy who incapacitates Nicky like that cause it’s the only real way to lock him down (or maybe it’s a sexual thing too 😉 ). Maybe Joe comes to rescue and the entire experience make him and Nicky realize they have a new shared kink? Go crazy! Im just picturing Nicky in a hogtie and I need it like yesterday

... because for millenniums it was the only thing they had. You had to know stuff if you were traveling around the world because you never knew if you would meet a "doctor" anytime soon.

So, modern medicne is all fine and dandy and convenient... but sometimes you just need the right herbs or 'stuff' to get healthy again.

Can we get Andy or Joe or Nicky curing Booker or Nile with their very old fashioned knowledge about herbs? And the 'youngsters' are still amazed about it? :D

Where Nicky grew up was an old temple. The priests who lived there, told the people that the gods demanded a virginal sacrifice (female or male, apparently the gods don't care) every year. If the people would give them the sacrifice, they would be safe, well fed, live in peace and be healthy, if they refuse it, they will suffer. It's all bullshit. Their gods are made up and the only reason they demand the sacrifice is because they're pervy men who wants to have their orgy and to terrorize the people in the area. They tie the sacrifice to an altar and rape them for weeks and when they're too beat up to be fun anymore they sell them into slavery. With that money and the gifts they get from the people they keep up their temple.

Joe's parents sent him as an apprentice in the temple and Nicky is his best friend. But when the people in the town chose Nicky to be the sacrifice he wants to help him. But he can't rescue him immediately, he has to wait till the older priests are exhausted before he can free Nicky and bring him away...

Joe and Nicky both entered the jedi world very young. When they were kids, the small age gap between them was enough for them not to know each other much.

As they get older, Joe becomes Andy's padawan and Nicky becomes Meta's padawan. Under Meta Kozak strict teaching, Nicky is taught to regard Andromache's wilder stance with the rules with disdain, and pretty soon Joe and Nicky are as close to ennemies as two jedis can be. (so technically on the same side, but really not liking each other). Thankfully, they have very few interactions.

Problem is, Meta is actually a sith. Now, she knows Nicky won't turn to the dark side, but he does trust her and won't question her when she gives her a mission. So under false pretense, she uses Nicky and his great talent to do something bad (idk, steal something, cause a catastrophy...). When it's over, Meta is long gone, and Nicky is crushed, deeply broken, letting himself arrested by other jedi and be judged by the council.

It is quite obvious that Nicky was manipulated, and didn't know about Meta. So, while Nicky is old enough to be on his own, technically, they decide to put him with another master to hopefully get him to find peace again.

Of course, they pick Joe. Joe is NOT happy about the task. Until he is.

Andy has had children several times over the centuries. The first few times it was because she was desperately hoping that they'd end up being like her, so she could stop being alone. Then, during less cynical times, after meeting Quynh and before losing her, it was because she liked adding life to the world sometimes, rather than just taking them. She never paid too much attention to what happened to any of them, beyond making sure they went to someone decent to be raised, but then Kozak's testing reveals that while none of Andy's kids ever ended up immortal, some of those children's descendants did.

Bonus: Further research reveals that Joe and Nicky are descended from the same ancestor and it's a close enough relationship that it gives them pause for exactly zero seconds but Booker absolutely teases them for it.

Something else happened to Nicky and Joe on the day that they killed each other. Their names appeared as if tattooed, over each other's hearts. Or one of Nicky's eyes turned brown while one of Joe's turned green. Or maybe suddenly once one of them learns how to do something, the other can automatically do it too. It's strange and surprising for them to learn that this thing isn't just part of the whole being an immortal thing. Whatever it is is something that they can sort of show the rest of the family in some way, although there's maybe some scoffing at their insistence that whatever it is started when they touched for the first time. Like, are you two sure that you weren't born with those eyes? Maybe you forgot? (Nile Freeman, a millennial, immediately jumps to soulmates.)

... but Nicky prefers Italian food and Booker French and they often bicker about the other's food because they both think their own food is the best! :D

And they both have completely different ways of working. The kitchen looks like a battlefield when Nicky cooks and he whirls around and stirs here in a pot and a second later he's there to cut something and he's singing and dancing around and is covered in flour and.. you get the image? When Booker cooks it's quieter in the kitchen and he's cutting everything he need beforehand and has everything prepared and then he's drinking a glass of wine while the food bubbles in pot or pan...

Just... just give some bickering between them about food and cooking :D

The building was given to Joe through some familial ties. He is an artist most of the time and a landlord/fix-it man when needed. It is a quaint, but old, two story brick building nestled into a quiet neighborhood in the city. Most of the tenets are chill hippies who have been living there for upwards of twenty years. Until one day, the apartment across from his own (because he lives there too, obviously) becomes available. The studio, which he prices reasonably on craigslist, is quickly pounced on by Nicky.

From there, a flirtatious relationship develops between them. Joe helps move Nicky's stuff in, there is paperwork to sign. Living across from one another they see each other a lot. Nicky made too many pastries one day, Joe needs to borrow some sugar for his coffee. Joe is in his early thirties, Nicky about to finish his graduate degree. So, no appreciable age difference.

A few months later, Nicky realizes he will be short on rent for [insert reason here] and knocks on Joe's door to ask for a possible extension. And, god love em' Joe has just finished his workout for the day. No shirt, glistening sweat. Nicky is clutching the doorframe to keep his knees under him.

Seeing his obvious attraction and reciprocating back fully, Joe asks if Nicky wants to find alternative means to solve this problem. It is a very enthusiastic yes. Sexual Relations are had.

+ Nicky comes by a few days later to pay the full rent, because he doesn't want to feel like a hoe
++ They continue to become fwb without the money involved

To make brain biopsy (or any other experiment/sample taking) easier, Nicky's hair is shaved in Merrick's lab.
Joe can be awake for all of it, or wake during the biopsy, or only when all is over, however you prefer! But I'd prefer Nicky to be awake through it, keeping as still as he can, but more scared than for the rest of samples: while physical wounds heal, they're always scared head wounds could mean losing memories or knowledge or worse.

I'd like a fic about five times that Joe and Nicky manage to successfully convenience someone that they're totally just friends/relatives and one time that nobody is fooled, no matter how hard they try.

Nicky is already several months pregnant (and showing) when the events of the movie starts. Since he never had a successful pregnancy, Joe and him choose not to tell the others. Joe goes alone to Marocco, and while Andy and Booker find it a bit odd, it's not the first time Nicky is on his own mission or whatever excuse Joe gives (and none of them are really in the right space of mind to really see something is off).
For Booker, it doesn't matter if in South Soudan they are three instead of four.
Events happen the same, Andy goes to find Nile and Joe calls Nicky to tell him to join them in France.
Everything happens the same... Until Nicky arrives as the dinner ends, and Booker sees he is pregnant, and it makes something in him breaks and he confesses everything.
