Okay so Joe somehow gets perfectly split in two down the middle. Don't know how you make it work, maybe Dr Kozac did some fucked up experiment in the lab wondering if there was some rhyme or reason to what half grew back or there was some freak accident on a mission.

We all know these two are equally protective and loving of each other, but as the movie shows, they have different reactions to when the other one dies. Joe's first priority is always making sure that Nicky is okay, no matter the violence that surrounds them. Nicky's first priority is to get rid of the threat i.e. whoever killed Joe and go feral in the process. I'd love to see this analyzed a bit more in fic.

The team are on a job when Nicky gets taken. The rest of them are at Copley's trying to track down who has him when an e-mail with a link comes in. It takes them to a streaming site, where they see Nicky strung up by his wrists.

There's a voice telling them that if they don't keep watching, or if they turn away, then he'll start posting Nicky's body parts back. "Oh, I know he'll survive it, but it'll still hurt."

They then have to watch as Nicky is brutally raped by a group of men. Maybe on of the team turns away and the voice tells them he told them to watch, so he orders the men to cut a body part off.

After it's done, he tells them there'll be another link in six hours.

Who is the bad guy? How many times do the team have to watch Nicky being brutalised? How did he know one of the had turned away?

Immortals aren't the only mythical creatures hiding in the shadows of the world. Perhaps in his priesthood days, Nicky encountered actual demons. Joe might have run afoul of hungry mermaids or giant sandworms. Maybe Lykon died when a bite from a vampire wouldn't stop bleeding. Etc, etc, etc.

Between some rough experiences in the army and being basically frantic to prove to his wife (and to himself) that he was still 'normal' in the aftermath, Booker has basically never had sex to which he fully consented. Post-exile Joe and Nicky discover this the hard way and are horrified, resolving to teach him that yes, it's okay to say no if he doesn't want it, or to speak up about what he *does* want, that no one will think less of him for that.

My entire mortal soul if he had more or less internalized as part of his punishment that he didn't have the right to refuse sex; that he deserves to be hurt because of his betrayal.

Booker goes with his friend Nicky to a bar and throughout the night Nicky keeps getting distracted- Booker notices Nicky keeps looking at some guy across the bar who's hanging out with his own friends and then he finally gets Nicky to confess that he thinks the guy is cute

So Booker tells Nicky to quit being shy and go talk to the guy but of course Nicky won't do it be ause he doesn't want to be rude or be a bother

So Booker takes matters into his own hands and goes up to the guy. He introduced himself as Joe and Booker makes some small talk with Joe until he gets to the gist all "Okay listen this might sound weird but my friend over there thinks your cute but he refused to do anything about it because he's too shy"

+At first Joe thinks Booker came over to ask him out for himself and then is extremely relieved when he finds out Booker is just asking Joe out for his shy friend across the bar

The Old Guard gets captured(ignore bookers exile ig) and are in a room together. some are strapped to beds others are strapped in chairs like a students desk. Nile, Nicky, and Joe are in the chairs. Joe and Nile have their arms tied to the arms of the chair but Nicky has his hands resting on a solid surface. Andy knows what is going to happen but doesn’t have the heart to say anything.
After a long period of different torture to Nicky, Nile, and Joe the man with a knife goes to Nicky. nickys hand has just grown back when the man above him cuts off each finger. it’s hours before Booker manages to get his own hand loose. but by then Nicky is struggling to focus on anything. joe and Nile are shouting at the man to stop but he just goes on to cut off Nickys fingers again but this time they do not grow back. tog crew begin to think the worst as the man moves to nickys other hand.
-in reality tho nicky has regrown his fingers so many times that his body is tired and just decided that reattaching would be better. especially since the fingers in question are only an inch away.
-booker quietly frees himself and andy and saves everyone.
-i don’t really know. just want some torture angst where nicky gets hurt so bad that his body doesn’t want to regrow itself when it can just reattach.

After leaving the priesthood (and with the support of his friends and family and pretty much everyone he'd ever cared for) Nicky is a lonely transit worker, the highlight of his day is brief interactions and glimpses he gets of Jafar al-Kaysani the gorgeous businessman Nicky sees on the man's daily commute. He's built up an elaborate fantasy life where they're together and he has someone who adores him and a loving family.

One day Jafar is injured and Nicky saves him from an oncoming train. But with Jafar unconscious, at the hospital Nicky is mistaken for his fiancé and introduced to Jafar's family as such: Jafar's parents, adopted sister Andy, her wife Quynh, and Jafar's artist brother Yusuf. The family is so open and loving to Nicky while Jafar is in a coma that he can't bring himself to reveal the truth.

Joe is the only one not to instantly warm to Nicky (Nicky must either be lying or a gold-digger, he doesn't believe that his status-conscious brother would really be dating a minimum-wage transit worker). But the more time they spend together the more he sees how sweet and fiercely loyal Nicky is and starts to fall for him, even as it eats him up with heartache because he's seen Jafar treat all his past partners badly.

And Nicky grows more and more to love the al-Kaysani family, and his own heart is breaking at the deception and how they'll all despise him when Jafar wakes up and reveals the truth, even as Nicky is falling in love with Joe and starting to realize he might have been pining for the wrong brother.

Bonus points for that part in the movie when the comatose brother wakes up and is like "...I don't know this person" and the family just assumes he's got amnesia and forgotten his fiancé

what happens when an immortal gets bitten by a zombie?

could be one of them was infected with something on purpose in Merrick's lab and the other watches as the infected one "dies" and comes back as a zombie? what's that look like?

or the zombies have already started to overrun whatever city their staying in and in the chaos Joe or Nicky gets swarmed and "killed", only to find his way home later where the others have assumed he was dead

or whatever zombie scenario strikes your fancy, as long as it explores what the zombie plague means for immortals (no heartbeat but still essentially the same? hungry for brains? mindless walking corpse? mindless walking corpse who somehow remembers his beloved? no more healing? or starting to decay to a point and then healing?) and the surviving immortal husband still loves and protects the zombie one and refuses to give him up

Inspired by the previous post about forced prostitution but this time in modern AU setting

Joe and Nicky are happy couple, Joe working as an artist and Nicky having recently left the priesthood. They don't have much because laughs at freelance artist wage (and Nicky's previous paycheck as a priest at a local parish), but they are happy together and living their best life being supportive!

But..... as it tends to be, money is getting tight and life is quite difficult. Joe contemplates about quiting his passion art job to find a desk job that pays better. Nicky adamantly tells him no, he should continue pursuing what gives him joy, etc. and that he has been looking for a job, soon they'll both be contributing financially! (Maybe it's this passion that inspired Nicky to leave the church and be himself? So he's horrified by the thought of Joe having to leave his passion work)

Except, with his cv only as an ex-priest...there's very little option for Nicky, and his job applications keep getting rejected. But he needs to help Joe somehow... at his lowest, he gets prepositioned by some guy for a blowjob. He told himself this is a one time thing but it ends up going on for awhile as his job search continues without improvement. He hates it, but it brings enough money...and he's willing to do anything to keep Joe's radiant happiness and passion for art.

How far he's willing to go is up to filler.
