Mrs Freeman is NOT accepting that bullshit explanation about what happened to Nile, especially after she contacts Nile’s old friends from the Marines whom she used to welcome to her house for holidays to ask them how Nile died. Their shiftiness and confusing stories about Nile’s injuries just makes her more suspicious and somehow she finds out the truth and...is totally cool with it.
It’s basically the opposite of what Booker warned Nile against—her mom is just so relieved to know that Nile is okay, and even more so that she has found such a great team and that she has so many years ahead of her. Basically, Mrs Freeman takes the whole team under her wing and becomes the team mom.
