Hi Everyone,

I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the poll and/or discussion, we received a lot of great feedback.

Ultimately, 23 out of 29 people voted to keep everything the way that it is now. However, some interesting points were brought up, and there are some new ideas we’d like to introduce. Additionally, there are some things that we’d like to clarify.

First, we won’t be making content warnings in the headers mandatory, but we will highly encourage them. I think most everyone is familiar with AO3 content warning tags, so if you’re writing a prompt or a fill, please try to include warnings for: Underage, Incest, Bestiality, Non-Con, Dub-con, Gore or Major Character Death. Though I believe most prompters/writers do this anyway, we’d like to ask everyone to tag content you think falls under these categories when you think it's appropriate. Though, again, it isn't mandatory.

Second, please try and utilize The Old Guard Kink Meme Pinboard to filter through prompts and fills! Recently, we’ve added the !Gen tag and we’re working our way through properly tagging older entries.

Gen tag will include: Character or platonic-relationship driven plots/ anything not focused on kink and/or romantic/sexual relationships. However, this does not exclude possible triggers such as violence/gore, though we will be tagging those prompts/fills appropriately.

Third, if a fill or prompt contains something you find off-putting, i.e. a squick, it’s your responsibility to scroll away. If the prompt or fill contains a trigger for you that is outside the usual tagged warnings (see above), you must know when to stop reading. Ultimately, everyone is responsible for their own individual experiences on the kinkmeme. This is a community where every genre, trope or kink is welcome. Of course, with one exception:

No sexual scenarios involving human/humanoid characters who are explicitly or implicitly stated to be under 14. Characters under the age of 14 are considered prepubescent here and it falls under the definition of pedophilia (if that wasn’t clear). The Underage warning is for human/humanoid characters that fall within the age range of 14-18, so please tag it in your prompt/fill header, if applicable.

Fourth, although we are encouraging extra tagging and will be doing our best to update the Pinboard, please remember the rules! This is a kinkmeme. Explore at your own risk. AND No bashing, no insults. Wank will be shut down.
