Prompt: Marwan/Luca - Sequel Angst

Inspired by all the articles about Netflix refusing to order a sequel.

So, Netflix finally bends to popular opinion and orders a sequel! Everyone's thrilled...except for Luca. He's been hoping for a sequel since COVID kinda stalled out him/Marwan. The problem is that Marwan's signed up to some other big project (Disney/big TV series whatever) and he won't be able to come back. Luca's crushed but he's happy for Marwan. He deserves to be successful and happy. Luca's a professional. He can do this.

Except the 'new' Joe's actor is...well, he's off to a bad start when he 'no homo's Luca at their first script reading and it gets worse from there. The new actor is playing Joe more like his comic-book version, all feral violence and aggression. The fight scenes are a nightmare and Luca's coming out of them with bruises. Luca keeps trying to find something that he can connect to as Nicky. He can't. He can't make his Nicky love this Joe but he's still trying super hard and it's miserable.

Bonus: Matthias trolling Marwan via Insta on how Booker's going to steal Nicky away and Marwan getting upset because that's his Nicky dammit! No touching!

Bonus: Luca's not admitting how bad it is to Marwan (can't make him feel bad about his big chance!) but the rest of the returning cast are texting him and sending him photos of how badly the New Joe is screwing up.

Bonus: Charlize gets a short video of Luca, exhausted and sad, telling Kiki that it's not working because "My Nicky only loves one Joe" and sends it to Marwan.

And most of all, a happy ending where Marwan manages to wrap his current project just in time to make it after all!

Joe/Nicky, cop and defense attorney AU, secret marriage

Nicky became a cop to make the world a safer place. He is not having a great time constantly defending this life choice while also trying to actually be a good cop in the year 2020, and is trying to figure out what to do with the realization that maybe it's not possible in the current system and he's just...wrong.

Joe is a defense attorney. He was top of his class at law school, and could have gone anywhere with that, but he wanted to do good and do something against the wrongful incarceration of people who can't afford proper representation. except now he works sixty hour weeks for way too little pay, and often he ends up representing people who take shitty deals out of fear, people who re-offend out of necessity, etc. etc. He's starting to feel like Sisyphus.

Nicky's friends and colleagues know Joe as "that asshole DA who never lets anything go and pokes holes in every witness statement". Joe's friends and colleagues know Nicky as "that asshole cop who Doesn't Understand systemic racism".

It's not like they MEAN to turn into Romeo and Juliet (if Juliet had graduated summa cum laude from yale and Romeo was throwing pebbles at her window asking to be educated about intersectionality), but by the time Nicky starts wearing a wedding ring on a chain around his neck it's just...too late to explain this whole situation.

Jafar/Nicky - seduction, marriage

Set somewhere in the past. Nickys in a bad place. Maybe him and Yusuf aren’t working out or they’re at the “fuckbuddies only” stage of their relationship or maybe they had a falling out. On top of that it seems nothing they do helps anyone, for every saved life they fail to save 20, evil is winning.
This is when Jafar shows up and seduces Nicky. Why stay in this crapsack world where nobody appreciates you, if you can live in a magical place full of magic and wonders instead, ruling it at the side of a powerful wizard?
Nicky goes with Jafar. Maybe he notices that Jafar is far from a benevolent ruler and decides to be the Angel on his shoulder, protecting the innocents from his wrath. Or maybe he’s just done and wants to live in a golden palace waited on hand and foot. Or both. Or whatever.

Can end in an AU or Nicky eventually leaves. Either way, hot Jafar rights etc.

Werewolf!Nicky/Joe - capture, taming of feral Nicky

Lord Al-Kaysani’s men capture a werewolf and bring him to Yusuf. They want to kill him but Yusuf stops them, werewolves are such rare, beautiful creatures, why kill him if you can tame and domesticate him instead? He knows werewolves respond well only to two things, food and fucking, so he starts feeding Nicky, by hand, every day. And when the creature is tame enough, he lets Nicky mount and fuck him, therefore further establishing Yusuf as someone who provides all sorts of comforts

Andy is old, but dinosaurs still predate her! I want her to wonder at the history of the world before her.

I've read a few fantastic fics where Joe & others dislike colder climates.

But I'd ALSO love to read a fic where Joe actually loves cold weather & climates. Give me a Joe who loves snowfall, he thinks it's magical, he tries to catch the snowflakes on his tongue!

I'm not, like, hip to weather patterns in North Africa now much less back in the 1090's, but there are mountains & he's a merchant so he's worldly, etc -- he knows about snow. And google also tells me that Jerusalem gets snow flurries.

But I'm talking first time winter in Scandinavia, Russia, Mongolia. I'm talking blizzards and snow drifts and lakes you can drive your car on, though obvs he predates cars. Ice caves and ice covering plants and the way that everything sparkles in the sunlight.

Cold weather also means getting to snuggle under blankets (with Nicky) and drink hot beverages and wear sweaters. Like, yes, it can be dangerous and uncomfortable (but so can the desert!!) and definitely dry skin and hair are unfun. He doesn't love it ALL the time, but it will always feel a bit magical to him watching the world covered in snow and ice. He's an artist, he knows beauty when he sees it and snow is pretty!

Bonus if you can fit the trope of "snowed into a Canadian shack" so that he and Nicky are just *sigh* ~forced~ to spend a few days together without being able to leave oh no what will they ever do??? (Each other, they will do each other. Have to keep warm SOMEHOW.)

Nicolo was given to the church at a very young age after his shocked parents showed him to a priest, revealing that he had been born with both make and female genitalia. He is raised to believe he has been made wrong and sinful, and needs to keep himself hidden and devote himself to God.
So, when he and Yusuf finally stop killing each other and start to grow closer, Yusuf thinks Nicolo is just very shy and inexperienced.
Maybe Yusuf teaches Nicolo to celebrate his body and not to be ashamed, and how he can find pleasure in it. Or maybe Yusuf has no experience of female genitalia, and they learn how to experience pleasure together.

Was tumblr lurking the other day and saw a post/cartoon (which I can’t find sorry. Along the way of escaping Merrick Pharmaceutical company, Kozack and some guards managed to take Nicky away with them... so now the team is even more of a mess... Nicky is captured, Andy is mortal, Nile is too new, Booker betrayed them and Joe is lost without his guiding moon. I guess I wanted to see more exploration of this sort of dynamic? At their worst, tensions high...lots of anger and screaming...yet having to work together to get Nicky back

Rather than being sent to priesthood, Nicolo was sold to become a pleasure slave to pay off some debt or something. He's been completely broken and trained to be the perfect pleasure slave. However he's now 30 and long past lived his usefullness so he's sent off with the crusaders to the Holy land, his sole purpose to let the men do whatever they want with him for pleasure. In trying to protect the slave, the two are killed and eventually wake up as the only "survivors" of the battle... as a result, the two up traveling together, Nicoló thinking Yusuf is his new master while Yusuf is trying really hard to help Nicoló understand that he's free

Nicoló is confused by the his new master's behavior... Yusuf gets upset by behaviors expected of a pleasure slave and Nicoló doesn't want to make his new master unhappy. And that makes him even more scared and terrified..

+ being a slave is so ingrained into him, Nicoló finds comfort in the things he's used to e.g. wearing a collar...and gets really nervous and anxious without it
