After witnessing the horrors his people inflicted during the crusades Nicolo decided he'll never pick up a weapon again, and instead dedicated his life to doing good by non-violent means. On a personal level he interpreted this as making amends to Yusuf and later taking good care of his newly found family.
By the time Nile joins them they've all long settled into an arrangement where Nicky doesn't accompany them on combat missions, but instead makes sure their safe houses are well maintained (and actually safe), that they're well supplied, their weapons are in good condition, there's food on the table, and yes, that his team is satisfied sexually. It's all 100% consensual, they all love eachother very much, and the others are grateful for Nicky's efforts to keep them safe and happy. Could be a 5+1 with different POV characters.
+ the Guard regularly takes on humanitarian missions in honor of Nicky's commitment to non-violence, and he goes along on those + jokingly calling dibs on Nicky for the night after they return from a mission + some D/s if you want to throw that in there :) + Nile is pretty ambivalent, especially about the sexual aspect of their relationship, until Nicky explains that this is all consensual, he's treated with love and care, and this arrangement allows him to really live according to his moral principles
