I’ve seen many, many fics about the team going to Italy and Nicky having feelings on it, but how about going back to Tunisia? How does Joe feel about this?

Can we get some fake death shenanigans here?

Things like:
+ the first time Nile's killed in front of an ally/rescuee and she almost forgets she has to play dead when she revives.
+ Andy getting taken out in a really obvious way right at the start of a fight and grumbling on the comm about missing out on all the fun.
+ Booker having to lie still on a battlefield for hours until he gets an all-clear.
+ Joe or Nicky having to pretend they're grieving because their contact saw one of them die, or maybe 'avenging' their lover.
+ Copley having to make a new identity because too many people saw the last one die.

These are just idea. I'm open to anything light-hearted about their deaths in front of others.

Before they were dating Booker, Joe and Nicky were just dating each other. Booker loves them, but can get really insecure about where he fits into the relationship. Preference for a mortal AU where thruples are common.

So you know the scene in E.T. where elliot is shouting, crying, and having a breakdown to cover the glow of E.T.? that but Nicky and Joe.
They are cornered and stuff happens so Nile, Booker, Andy are off to one side a few feet from Joe and Nicky. Nicky says some smart ass comment and someone points a weapon at him but Joe moves in front of it.
Joe gets stabbed/shot/whatever you’d prefer and falls to the ground. Nicky realizes this is bad but immediately has a plan. Nile, Andy, and Booker can overpower the two people in them and once Joe heals the couple can take out the ones above them.
So Nicky throws himself down on Joe and starts sobbing and clutching his husband. mostly for show but also to hide joes healing wound and grimaces of pain as he recovers.
pretty much just Joe is a badass and Nicky is quick with a plan so the men who attacked them stand no chance.
(the people who attack them don’t know their immortal)

Loved all the prompts and fics about Nicky being in an abusive relationship and, greedy thing that I am, I want more.

Booker is a widower who hasn’t been dating since his wife died, until he meets OMC (can also be Keane, Merrick etc). He falls in love, moves in with OMC but OMC quickly shows his true colours and starts abusing Booker. Booker is distressed but decides to stick with the guy, better to get smacked around a bit than going back to this dark, lonely life he led before. Also heavy shades of denial and shame.

Up to author how far this goes (op isn’t against heavy violence and noncon*) but his friends eventually realise what’s happening and help him out

Bonus:
- OMC hates Joe and accuses Booker of cheating
- Booker covering up for OMC by lying how he got the injuries and for the longest time people buy it

Booker comes back from the exile early but the wounds are still not healed, and nobody trusts him in combat setting. He gets confined to the safe houses where he’s tasked with all the domestic chores, from cooking and cleaning to cleaning weapons.

Lost in darkness is a surprising phrase, in a way, for Joe, who seems so sunny and positive when people aren't either betraying his family or shooting his husband. And Joe didn't even present this as a fate that would have befallen him without Nicky -- the grammar suggests that getting "lost" is a thing that has happened and will again, but that Nicky saves him from it.

I feel like I've seen more of Joe being that guiding light for Nicky - probably for a variety of reasons, including the fact that Nicky's backstory sets him off on a more obviously "lost" trajectory and also that his inwardness seems like it might turn to depression in some circumstances. But Joe's the one that actually claims the experience.

So just ... show me what that means? Maybe a 5+1 if you like?

At some point in the lab Joe and Nicky are split up for separate experimentation, but it’s only so that the guards can abuse Nicky. BUT Quynh may also have an interest in letting them suffer a bit longer. Up to the author if they get out with help or on their own at some point (I don't see this as a "captured forever" thing necessarily, but "captured for a long time" definitely.)
