Inspired by the above prompt with such a cool premise of the older members of the Old Guard evolving alpha, beta, and omega designations to help blend in with the modern world. But in this case, Joe and Nicky both develop into alphas, or both into omegas. At first they are super confused, maybe wondering if they aren't meant to be together? But they come to accept it and figure out how to make it work (after all they were able to have sex before all of this using lube, or maybe they can mimic a knot with toys for heats)

I have a preference for bottom!Joe 😍 (but vers is good too)
