Nicolò is one of sultan’s concubines. He does something that deeply displeases his master and as a punishment, is given as a husband to one of the travelling merchants that came to the palace to sell his wares. It is suppose to be a cruel punishment, what could be worse that going from being a pampered concubine living in luxury and opulence to becoming a merchant’s spouse, having to, ugh, work for a living. The horror. What the sultan didn’t count on is Yusuf being a kind, good man, these two falling in love and living happily ever after.
