Thanks for asking - prompt posts will be rolled over at around 400 comments from now on. But since prompt posts stay open for squee and fills, the specific number may vary somewhat. If you accidentally add a new prompt to a closed post, it's not a big deal.
Posts will always be edited to include updated information, though, so checking the prompt post itself should always tell you whether it is still active or not.
