Oh this is excellent. Everyone's characterizations are so clever and perfectly them, even the ones not in the main spotlight so to speak, like Nile. The complicated but different feelings Joe and Nicky have towards Booker, Booker's own complicated feelings toward himself, JOE BEING SO PERFECTLY HIMSELF, all of this is genius. Very much looking forward to reading more.
