Surely there have been stretches of times - months, sometimes even years - where the work was sparing and the group had chances to settle down for a while. Nothing fancy, nothing too attention-grabbing; just a nice little place in a big city where they could live like regular, totally anonymous people.
I'd love to read about Joe and Nicky during these periods, what kind of slow life they lead. Maybe they're with the others, maybe not. Maybe Joe does some merchant work again; maybe he spends his days writing and drawing. Maybe Nicky takes up new hobbies; maybe he just wants to spend as much time as possible cuddled up against Joe enjoying the quiet.
