It helps that the area we have is set apart from the rest of the pub (down some stairs, so we can, effectively, 'close' it off to just us). The staff know we're an adult group, although not the specifics. We usually get told we're the ones they most look forward to coming because we're polite, we buy stuff, and we're willing to share the huge amount of sweets that we bring with the staff :D

Oh, I now have this mental image of someone asking Nicky if he's into watersports and Nicky being all "Well, I tried jet-skiing last year, but I wasn't a big fan..."
