Given the differing social mores of the time, I think it's more likely that Nicky wouldn't have had sex at all before (but maybe he ignored his priestly vows?) while Joe may have had some previous sexual experience (with women or men). Now that Andy's mortal and Nile isn't, Nile is constantly throwing herself between Andy and danger. Andy's kind of annoyed (she's mortal, not incompetent!) but also, watching Nile fight is really hot.

Booker has had a secret crush on Joe and Nicky for decades and is mad jealous of what they have together.

During his exile, he keeps his distance but he also still keeps his eye on the boys—when one or both of them gets in trouble, he steps in to save them, even though he’s afraid that they’ll extend his punishment when it comes out that he’s been keeping tabs on them. Instead, they finally realise how much Booker cares about them and take proper care of him

Maybe they used to sometimes kill each other in bed because they got off on it, but then when they met Andy and Quynh and learned about Lykon, they didn't want to take the risk that the death would stick this time. Doesn't mean they won't talk filth about it sometimes.

Joe has to watch as Nicky is flayed alive.

Whenever one, or both of them, need to separate for a mission, the other tries to be as patient as possible and not give into the loneliness. But they're only human. Then the other comes back, maybe midway through their partner's needy play session only to help take care of them.

AU where Nicky is sold to Joe as a slave. Nicky believes that it’s God’s will he serves this man and tries to be the best possible servant to his master. Joe believes it’s his right as a master to have sex with his slave if he chooses to, and that Nicoló should be honoured for being chosen. The problem is that Nicky, even though desperate to please, is an inexperienced virgin.
