Joe knows he is being unfair and that he is hurting Nicky by creating a distance between them, but he can't help it. Some part of him feels like Nicky should have seen what was happening to Booker, should have been able to stop the betrayal from happening. Nicky is the observant one, the one who takes care of them and always knows when something is wrong and someone needs to talk or just a cup of tea and a warm touch ob the shoulder. So why didn't Nicky see it this time?

It doesn't help that he keeps seeing Nickys dead eyes staring up at him every time he closes his eyes. He has seen Nicky hurt or dead so many times before, but it was different this time when he was hurt because of a member of their family.
