Everyone is a little surprised when king Yusuf takes Nicolo, a seemingly unremarkable man of modest origins, as his concubine. But they soon chalk it up to the king being lonely and looking to ease the stress of everyday life without the political entanglements of marriage. After all, Nicolo is handsome, charming in his own quiet way and seems to know his place well enough - especially when the king keeps insisting on bringing him along to stare councils and audiences with foreign dignitaries.

Turns out Nicolo has a good head for military strategy/is great with numbers/has uncanny memory and sense of observation/is actually the head of Yusuf’s spy network/etc. The boytoy lounging around in silks sipping expensive wine while the Royal Council debates important state matters is just that - an act.

Only Yusuf’s innermost circle is aware that in private they never so much as touch. Nicolo takes his job very seriously and Yusuf respects him as the talented professional and valuable advisor he is.

That they have a secret raging crush on eachother is also something only Yusuf’s innermost circle is aware of, and they despair at it everyday.

This prompt is the kinky lovechild of the comment asking why Nicky and Joe had medical drapes over their groins and fanfics where the lab creates a child from their sperm.

I can't believe that over the centuries only the bad guys witnessed TOG's immortality. There must have been "good" guys too, and innocent civilians they rescued, who sometimes saw them wake up after they had been killed. People who didn't immediately scream "witchcraft!" and weren't afraid of them (becaus TOG just saved them).
So there must be stories. Told by soldiers and others. Every tavern has that one drunkard who claims to have met TOG. Of course, nobody believes him, but he's a pretty good story-teller, so they like listening to him telling his tales. About a group of 4 immortal warriors, who come to your rescue when you desperately need it. Who save innocent people, help soldiers in need etc. Like some fable told by soldiers to soldiers, with a moral of the story to never harm innocents and TOG will help you if you're in need, but if you do harm innocents, TOG will end you. Every soldier around the world has heard one version of that story or another (no matter if they believe it or not).
I would love some outsider POV. Or maybe some bad guys pretending to be TOG so they can extort people, and the real Old Guard put an end to it (they have to think of their reputation, after all 😁). Or Nile having heard those stories and realizing - huh, you're TOG. Holy sh*, I'M TOG now! o.O

leaning into the idea that nicky was a bit of a slut in his monastery days, he developed a bit of a skillset, ie he gives fantastic blowjobs. when his relationship with yusuf starts developing, he's feeling pretty confident that he'll be able to show yusuf a good time. except before they get that far, yusuf comes out as trans.

this absolutely doesn't change nicky's feelings. he's exclusively into men but only has history with cis men, so he's at a bit of a loss in terms of making sure he can give yusuf the pleasure he deserves. but then that classic nicolo acts of service mentality kicks in and he fully dedicates himself to learning how to eat pussy as well as and better than he ever sucked cock. yusuf is the very satisfied recipient of all of nicky's practice, which is extensive to put it mildly.

Okay, for one reason or another Joe is not in the safe house when Keane's men attack. Maybe he was checking on Andy and Nile, maybe he needed some fresh air, too, and it's not as if Booker could tell him why he couldn't leave the house. However, Joe's not there, Nile and Andy are not there and when Keane's men attack they only get Nicky. They can't take Booker (for reasons) and so Nicky is completely alone in the van, he's alone in the plane, he's alone with Merrick and then he's alone in the lab where Kozak does all the things she needs only to him.

And Joe's not there for him as support, like in the movie, when it gets especially bad. And since Kozak only has him, it does get especially bad!!

Of course Joe's on the way with Andy, Nile and Booker to Copley, where Booker betrays them and all that... and then they bring him to the lab, too, where he sees Nicky and he's in a really bad shape...
